The Face of Yoga

A lot of gyms and yoga studios have mirrors along one wall, which are great for helping you achieve proper alignment in a pose. But have you ever studied your face as you practice? Have you ever noticed how it changes throughout your asana session?

Try this: Look at your face in the mirror before you begin your asana practice. Most likely your skin looks a little dull and your eyes stare blankly back at you from a lackluster face. Then, as you begin moving from one asana to the next, you notice your face come to life. Your circulation improves and you may start to sweat a little. By the end of the session, you're positively glowing. Color comes to your cheeks, your eyes are brighter, your spirit is lifted, you feel good—and it all shows in your face.
