Sweet Relaxation

Some of my friends aren’t sure what to think when they hear of recipes like this one, but when they try it, they’re immediately won over. Adding herbs to juices and smoothies lends an exotic twist as well as extra healing powers. I’m particularly fond of basil, which makes this combination very relaxing for the mind and soothing for the stomach.

Yield:

Cooking Time:  5 Minutes
Prep Time:  5 Minutes
Ingredients: 
  • Juice of 2 apples
  • 1½  frozen bananas
  • 5 fresh basil leaves
  • ½ cup milk, coconut milk, or water

Blend ingredients

Notes: 

Benefits: This smoothie soothes and coats the stomach and digestive tract. To calm an upset stomach, blend in some apple pulp. Basil aids digestion and eases stomach cramps, nausea, and constipation.
